Simon Boas, qui avait écrit un récit sincère sur sa vie avec le cancer, est décédé le 15 juillet à l'âge de 47 ans. Dans une récente interview accordée à la BBC, l'ancien travailleur humanitaire a déclaré au journaliste : « Ma douleur est sous contrôle et je suis terriblement heureux - cela peut sembler bizarre à dire, mais je n'ai jamais été aussi heureux de ma vie ».
